About Us

We’re midwives, moms, wives, partners and best of all, friends.

Trinity Midwifery

is a small private group practice of midwives who support family-centered home births for families who prefer tailored, respectful care and autonomy. Trinity Midwifery is fully operational by the efforts of our 2 primary midwives, Jessica Bready and Vanessa Lewis who not only provide clinical care as midwives, but also handle all the tasks of an office with a full staff!

Trinity also offers educational apprenticeships to student midwives and doulas.

NARM Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), toLabor trained and Madriella Certified Doula (CD)

As a child, when asked what I wanted to be when I was an adult I would answer, “a baby doctor”. I was fascinated by my mother’s birth stories and the process of which we can grow a human in our body, birth a human through our body, and then nurture that same human with our body! I believed it was nothing short of a miracle.

In 2011, I found my way to homebirth while planning my birth experience with my first child, Merrick.  And I never looked back! Just 4 months later, I attended my first birth as a certified doula. In 2013, with a midwife in attendance, our daughter Everleigh was born at home into my husband’s hands. It was simultaneously peaceful and wild! I was grateful to have my son present during labor and birth, and looking back, making extra effort to have my mom witness it before her passing really puts a perfect little bow on it all.

My own beautiful birth experiences were the catalyst to my becoming a midwife, forging ahead to complete an 18-month midwifery program with the Massachusetts Midwives Alliance and apprenticeship pathway, attending births with several midwifery practices in Massachusetts.

I have participated and met all clinical requirements and passed the NARM national licensing exam to become a Certified Professional Midwife. I have certified in BLS, CPR, NRP, lactation counseling, birth and postpartum doula support, and continue to attend conferences, courses and midwifery educational programs.

I believe a new definition of love is born with each child, and it is such an honor to attend birthers and their families during this very special and joyous occasion.

When I’m not spending time with birthing families, I’m is deeply involved in my own, both at home and with my extended family in church where we have participated in music ministry and children’s studies.

NARM Certified Professional Midwife (CPM)

For as long as I can remember I have been interested in medicine and science. I studied pre-medicine in college and my original plan was to attend medical school. After college, however, I began to work on organic farms and deepened my relationship with the natural world, nutrition, and holistic healing modalities. I grew to question our medical model and what it truly means to be healthy.

In 2014 I became a doula, attending both home and hospital births in Hawaii. Mentors there helped fuel my passion for women’s autonomy and reproductive rights. In 2016 I chose to pursue a midwifery education at GoMidwife in Kailua-Kona. It was there that I began to learn the skills necessary to support a woman in any birth setting of her choosing. After graduating, I was blessed to apprentice with highly educated, experienced, and passionate CPM’s from Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, California, and the list keeps growing! With their help I became a CPM in 2019 and have attended over 100 births, including a number of twin, VBAC, and breech deliveries. I maintain all current CPR, NRP, and NARM certifications. I am a lifelong learner and frequently attend workshops and conferences to develop deeper knowledge and skill. I enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and honor childbirth as a transformative process for all.
